The first Waikato Christmas Market was held in 2020, created with a simple vision: to bring people together and celebrate the festive season in a welcoming, community-focused environment. Since then, the market has continued to grow, and in 2024, we proudly expanded with the introduction of the Mid-Winter Christmas Market, bringing festive cheer to the cooler months. In 2026, our family of events will grow again with the launch of the Waikato Easter Market.
Our mission is to create a strong sense of community through vibrant, seasonal events that celebrate local creativity and connection. We are proud to host our markets at Claudelands, making the most of the beautiful outdoor grounds of the Claudelands Barn during summer, and the comfort of undercover Hall C during winter.
Located in the heart of the city, our central location adds to the energy and atmosphere, offering a vibrant celebration that reflects the essence of Hamilton and the wider Waikato region.
With a strong focus on supporting local artisans and small businesses, Waikato Festive Markets showcases a diverse range of handmade and locally produced goods, offering visitors a unique shopping experience that is sure to inspire, delight, and captivate.
